Training older adults isn't one-size-fits-all. It requires specialized expertise in the unique challenges and opportunities that come with age.
Everything you need to know about training with me. Can't find your answer? Call me directly.
I train at gyms in San Diego and the surrounding towns. I also train at your home if you have an in-home gym and at Residential Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Your first session begins with a comprehensive assessment of your current fitness level, mobility, and any health considerations. We'll discuss your goals, review your medical history, and perform baseline measurements. Then we'll do a light introductory workout so I can observe your movement patterns. Come in comfortable workout clothes and be ready to learn!
Absolutely not! In fact, this is exactly who I specialize in training. At 64 myself, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with training later in life. We'll start at your current level and progress safely. Many of my most successful clients started in their 50s and 60s with zero gym experience.
I require 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. Life happens, and I'm flexible with emergencies on a case-by-case basis. For same-day scheduling needs, please call me directly at 508-951-8978.
Yes, you will need to check with your gym to see if an external trainer can come to your gym. Is there a cost? If there is a cost, you will need to pay for it. It is not included in my prices.
For optimal results, I recommend 2-3 sessions per week, especially when starting out. This allows for proper recovery between sessions while maintaining momentum. As you progress, we can adjust frequency based on your goals and schedule. Many clients see excellent results with just 2 sessions weekly.
My background in healthcare and specialized training in working with older adults means I'm well-equipped to work around injuries and health conditions. During our initial assessment, we'll thoroughly discuss any limitations. I design programs that accommodate your needs while still helping you progress safely.
Yes! Nutrition is a crucial part of achieving your fitness goals. While I'm not a registered dietitian, I provide practical nutritional guidance based on proven principles. For clients with specific medical dietary needs, I can work alongside your healthcare providers.
Most clients notice improved energy and mood within the first 2 weeks. Strength gains typically become noticeable around 4-6 weeks. Visible body composition changes usually appear around 8-12 weeks with consistent training and proper nutrition. Remember, sustainable results take time—we're building lifelong fitness, not quick fixes.
Still have questions? I'm happy to help.
Whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned athlete looking for expert guidance, I'm here to help you reach your goals safely and effectively.
Important: Please check with your gym about their policy on external trainers. Training at your gym will be at your expense and is not included in my hourly rate.
